About

Since 2018, World Cleanup Day has brought together millions of people for the biggest waste collection day in human history.

Every year, environmental heroes join in an epic 36-hour green wave of cleanups across the globe – beginning in New Zealand and travelling around the world before ending in Hawaii.

On 18 September 2021, almost 14 million people in 191 countries collected 53 million kgs of waste - despite the many restrictions of Covid-19!

In South Africa, more than 60,000 volunteers participated in more than 450 cleanups.

Let's make it even BIGGER and BETTER this year!

Organize your own cleanup or join existing cleanups here.
